We just received the news that Bobby Charles passed away this morning. Charles stayed out of the spotlight as much as possible, but was truly one of a select few of Louisiana’s greatest songwriters. His most famous songs, “Walking to New Orleans” and “See You Later Alligator” are standards, and his 1971 self-titled album is a constant on lists of essential Louisiana LPs.
