How did you first come across Elizabeth’s?

I live a few blocks down at the Musicians’ Village and I went out looking for restaurants nearby. I found the place when the original owner, Elizabeth, had first opened.

What are you ordering today?

The country breakfast comes with grits, poached eggs, smoked pork loin covered in gravy.

Do you always order the same thing?

I usually try to get something different whenever I come; they have great dinner specials with a large choice of sides. I tend to go for the fish specials, because it’s always cooked perfectly. Then, I usually choose some greens, like mustard greens or collard greens. (Puts Crystal hot sauce all over the meal.)

I see you haven’t finished your plate. Are you done already?

Oh yeah, they always give such large portions of food, I never finish the whole dish.
