Sweet Home New Orleans revamps strategy

Sweet Home New Orleans, the non-profit organization that helped thousands of musicians and Mardi Gras Indians post-Katrina, is announcing a new strategic vision at an event at Café Istanbul (2372 St. Claude Avenue in the Healing Center, New Orleans) on Wednesday, November 7 at 5:30 p.m.

Sweet Home’s new strategic plan is touted as one that will “directly enhance and expand the conditions by which musicians and Mardi Gras Indians economically benefit from their creative assets.”

Sweet Home New Orleans has spent six months reassessing its mission and services and, with the support of the Ford Foundation, has crafted a new strategic plan that will prosper the community it serves. The organization is transitioning to provide in-depth assistance in the areas of music business and job creation, as well as referral services to other resources serving the music community.

Sweet Home New Orleans has published several statistical assessments of the music community and has been hailed nationally for its annual State of the Music Community Report,
