Revolution SAPC Second Line Marches Sunday + Photos from St. Joseph’s Night

The Revolution Social Aid & Marching Club annual parade will take place this Sunday (March 24), starting 1:00 p.m. at Armstrong Park (corner of Rampart and St. Phillip Streets) and winding up at Hunters Field (1600 North Claiborne Street). The event is sponsored by the Backstreet Cultural Museum, the Treme community group that’s devoted to keeping New Orleans traditions alive and chronicling each year’s jazz funerals.

Last Sunday (March 17) marked the annual Mardi Gras Indian Super Sunday parade. That morning, OffBeat photographer Kim Welsh met the Yellow Pocahontas’ Big Chief David Montana as he led his tribe to the parade’s starting point at A.L. Davis Park.
