A man always as busy as he is funky, George Porter Jr. will be playing in the coming months with the Funky Meters, the Meter Men, and Fleur Debris. But first he hits Tipitina’s this weekend for a show with his long-running band as a leader, the Runnin’ Pardners. The band’s latest album, Can’t Fight the Funk, put some fresh spins on lesser-known songs from the original Meters catalogue.
