Radiators to Re-Reunite at Tipitina’s
in January

The Radiators have confirmed a weekend of reunion shows for January 16, 17, and 18 of 2014. The shows coincide with the band’s anniversary weekend, always an occasion for the legendary New Orleans quintet. Their two anniversary shows in January 2013 both sold out in a matter of minutes, and wound up being the only Radiators shows this year.

According to an email sent by singer/guitarist Dave Malone on Sunday evening, the 2014 shows will be titled Work Done on Premises— also the title of the first Radiators album, recorded at Tipitina’s in 1980. “Draw your own conclusions,” notes Malone, though a likely one is that the double album will be played in full on one of the three nights.

The Radiators broke up in June 2011 (but recorded its last three-night blow-out at Tips as The Last Watusi), did a short reunion show at Howlin’ Wolf in 2012 (to benefit then-ailing bassist Reggie Scanlan) and then the anniversary shows this year. Tipitina’s will be announcing the 2014 shows on Monday morning, and tickets are expected to go on sale this Friday, August 30.
