On Saturday, March 15, 2014, New Orleans’ own Zion Harmonizers will be celebrating their 75th Anniversary with a party at the Joy Theater from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Formed in 1939 in a New Orleans neighborhood then known as “New Zion,” the group continues their wonderful style of singing traditional gospel four part harmonies to today’s audiences.
The New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Seminarians and the Franklin Avenue Baptist Church Choir, along with many local musicians, will join the Zion Harmonizers in a special performance at the anniversary event.
