Tipitina’s Co-Op Lafayette’s Manager and local musician Chad Fouquier will moderate a discussion between Acadiana based songwriters David Egan, Johanna Divine and Brother Dege.

Topics covered during the conversation will include song structure, how to begin writing and editing, collaborations, and publishing. The songwriters will also participate in a question and answer session with attendees.

David Egan, a resident of Lafayette, wrote a number of original songs that were later recorded by notable musicians, including Irma Thomas, Etta James and Joe Cocker.

Johanna Divine, originally from Knoxville, now resides in Lafayette, with her songs being used in multiple feature films and television shows.

Brother Dege plays a unique psychedelic brand of roots music, gaining notoriety after Quentin Tarantino used his song, “Too old to Die Young” in Django Unchained.

The workshop is open to the public and no RSVP is required.
