NOISEY Music Channel Focuses on New Orleans Metal Community

NOISEY, VICE’s music channel, has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming documentary series NOLA: Life, Death, & Heavy Blues from the Bayou.

NOLA: Life, Death, & Heavy Blues from the BayouThe series will air Tuesdays and Thursdays on NOISEY, beginning September 16.

From the crawfish littered tables of the secluded Anselmo compound to the swamps of New Orleans, the series gets an inside look at the culture that spawned the world-renowned Bayou sound.

The series follows the bands, drugs, deaths, and music that exemplify the New Orleans Metal community through in-depth conversations with key artists such as Phil Anselmo (Housecore Records, DOWN, ex-Pantera), Mike “IX” Williams (Eyehategod), Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod, DOWN, Superjoint Ritual), Kirk Windstein (Crowbar, ex-DOWN), Pepper Keenan (Corrosion of Conformity, DOWN), and Sammy Duet (Goatwhore, ex-Acid Bath).
