What do you eat here?
The fried chicken livers. Me being a Creole, I use my fingers. Make the fingers taste better.
Something on the side?
Depends how you want it, dahlin’. Sometimes I get the red beans, sometimes cabbage. The chicken salad is good, and the pork ribs too. The chefs over here really know what they’re doing.
How do you know?
Well, I don’t cook. I can cook, but I live alone. I cook too much.
Is that a problem?
I have a freezer, but it’s just too much.
How do you stay in shape?
I do my walkabout. All the way up to the 1700 block of Prytania.
How do you get the energy to walk so far?
I eat a lot of potato. If you get a po-boy over here you have to pay an extra $1.50 for fries. Potato, potato. Let’s call the whole thing off.
