Carnival season 2019 kicks off with Joan of Arc parade (Photos)

Over the past weekend, Twelfth Night arrived and marked the beginning of Carnival season in New Orleans. As usual, the Krewe de Jeanne d’Arc marched through the French Quarter, and Kim Welsh was on site to capture it all.

This year’s monarchs include Alexandre Vialou (Senior Business Analyst for the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority) as our 2019 King Charles VII. Young Joan, Maid of Honor 2019, is Alyssa Fortier. Queen Yolande is Liz Williams (founder of Southern Food and Beverage.) Amanda Helm and Antoinette de Alteriis are Co-Captains. Amy Kirk Duvoisin is the Founder and Captain Emeritus. Rafael Monzon was the Parade Marshal.
