Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys will celebrate their 30th anniversary at Festivals Acadiens et Créoles

Allons y: Festivals Acadiens et Créoles shares all-star lineup for 2018

On the weekend of October 12, Festivals Acadiens et Créoles will return to Lafayette for the 2018 manifestation. With a focus on the lyrical legacy of Caesar Vincent and the 50th anniversary of CODOFIL, this year’s event continues the Festival’s tradition of celebrating the heritage of French songs in the region. Additionally, songs spawned during the last 50 years will be of special interest.

Returning to perform are Steve Riley, Roddie Romero and Wayne Toups. Making Festival debuts are Autumn Wild, Daiquiri Queens and Mason Trail. Of special note is the reunion of Veillée, an appearance from Tiny Band O’ Gold and the Caesar Vincent tribute. “As always,” say organizers, “festival-goers can get up close and personal with many of these musicians at the air-conditioned Scéne Atelier and our Jam Ça tent.”

This is a free festival, but attendees are encouraged to become a “Festival Friend” to help sponsor the event. For more information, visit the Festival’s website.
