Benefit for Wounded Policeman John Passaro on April 16

Charmaine Neville, the Bucktown Allstars, the Wise Guys and other local musicians perform next Wednesday to benefit Police Officer  John Passaro, who was wounded in the line of duty two months ago. The event, dubbed “Rock & Roll For Passaro” happens on April 16 at Generations Hall.

Passaro was shot multiple times when responding to an armed robbery in the Bywater neighborhood in February, and spent days in intensive care afterward. The event became a reminder for the dangers that police officers face on a daily basis.

Full lineup for Saturday’s concert is the Wise Guys, Charmaine Neville, Kingsroe, Kandee Side and the Bucktown Allstars. Food will be provided by various local restaurants and chefs, there will also be a silent auction. Anyone with items to donate is welcome to drop them off at 848 Harrison Avenue in Lakeview.

Tickets for the show are $25; money will be used to pay medical expenses and loss of income while wounded. “With your generous support, we will be able to help Officer Passaro and his family not only meet essential daily needs, but also enable them to focus entirely on his recovery. All proceeds generated will go directly to Officer John Passaro,” said Fifth District Commander Christopher Goodly.
