On Sunday, August 18, Deutsches Haus will host a blood drive as part of the 6th Annual Blood Drive in conjunction with the New Orleans Musicians Clinic and Assistance Foundation and the Organ Grinder Dance Troupe.

During the summer months, the Blood Center‘s blood bank reaches critically low levels of reserves, so the summer drive is an integral part of replenishing resources for those in need.

August 18’s blood drive at Deutsches Haus runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1700 Moss St. The event will include a dance off featuring numerous troupes, as well as a DJ. The event is free and open to the public, and those who donate blood will get free refreshments.

For those unable to make a donation on August 18, the New Orleans Musicians Clinic is running blood drives on four Tuesdays in August (Aug. 6, Aug. 13, Aug. 20 and Aug. 27). These drives are open from noon to 6 p.m. at NOMAF (1525 Louisiana Ave.).
