Bluesberry Music + Art Festival returns for romp in Covington

Last year, we announced the debut of the Bluesberry Music + Art Festival and this year it’s back, bigger and better! Join the all-day party in Downtown Covington at Bogue Falaya Park on Saturday, May 30. Mississippi-born Grammy-nominated artist Cedric Burnside will headline.

Bluesberry Festival received its charming name because it actually coincides with the peak of blueberry season, so expect a side of antioxidants with those guitar licks.

The music starts at 10 a.m. with Nashville-based singer/songwriter JL Fulks; check out his adventure videos that feature his tunes here. New Orleans’ own Roadside Glorious, who will also be playing Jazz Fest this year, go on at 11:15 a.m. 2015’s The Voice winner Sawyer Fredericks performs at 12:30 p.m. You can catch New Orleans based funk/pop artist Tyler Kinchen at 1:45 p.m. Twenty-year-old Ally Venable will be playing with her band at 3 p.m. Austin-based Americana outfit The Band of Heathens goes on at 4:15 p.m. Whiskey Bayou Records’ artist Eric Johanson will be hitting up the slide guitar at 5:30 p.m. and the headliner, Cedric Burnside goes on at 6:45 p.m., playing an extra long set until 8 p.m.

Early bird tickets go for $15, General Admission is $25 and VIP Experience tickets go for $65. Children under the age of 10 get in for free. Visit www.thebluesberryfest.com for more information and tickets.
