Need a ticket to BUKU? FlipTix lets people who leave early sell a ticket

FlipTix, the groundbreaking platform that transformed event ticketing, signed a deal with the sold-out BUKU Music + Art Project for the 2019 festival. Ticketholders who leave the festival early will now be able to “flip” their remaining time on their ticket, providing more access for more people to the event.

FlipTix is an evolutionary technology company that serves the event ticketing industry. The FlipTix web and mobile app allows event attendees of concerts, sporting events, multi-day festivals and conferences to sell their vacated seats or spaces to prospective buyers who are outside of the venue. By increasing overall attendance, FlipTix enables festivals and other live events to boost vendor and concession sales and to track data that can be used to improve the festival or event experience for attendees.

FlipTix was founded and is led by two brilliant minds, Jaime Siegel, who spent 16 years as the VP of Intellectual Property for Sony, and Brian Siegel, who previously led a number of Sony’s U.S. business operations. “We’re extremely excited to partner with BUKU, which gives us an unprecedented opportunity to introduce festival goers in New Orleans to the convenience and efficiency of the FlipTix platform,” said Jaime Siegel.

Using FlipTix, ticket holders who exit prior to the end of the event simply provide notice through the app that they have left the venue, and new fans are notified that a Flip is available. Prices are set automatically and sellers receive remuneration in the form of cash, credit, merchandise or gift cards after their ticket is flipped.

“At BUKU we always look for innovative and disruptive ways to bring value to our customers, and FlipTix is a perfect example of that,” said Reeves Price, co-founder and executive producer of BUKU.

Wristbands resold through FlipTix before the event must be dropped off at the following designated areas:

  • Wednesday, March 20, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. – Republic New Orleans Box Office
  • Thursday, March 21, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. – FlipTix tent at BUKU (near on-site box office)
