BYOBed Takes the Arts to Bed Saturday Night

Who says that slumber parties are just for kids? Artist Inc., the people behind BYOBed, have proven that late night pillow fights, snacks, and fun aren’t just for those still in middle school. BYOBed is an all-night experience of performance art, music, theater, dance, burlesque, film, and installation.

Get horizontal while enjoying the arts this Saturday night.

The event, sponsored by Artist Inc., is set for this Saturday, October 20 from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. at Michalopoulos Studio. The night will include performances by Reese Johanson Performance Collective, Bella Blue, Rob Cambre, Andrea Dupree and more than a dozen more. Those snuggled up and settling in for the evening can bring their own bedding and/or tent.

Although BYOBed is an all-night extravaganza with a “non-stop expression and layering of art,” after 2 a.m. the party will go into “quiet mode” — so if you’re worried about not getting enough shut-eye, the music will consist of quieter compositions and those who still wish to enjoy films and featured DJs can do so through provided headphones. Food will be available all night, with breakfast surprises promised at dawn.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $16 at the door, $8 after 1 a.m. and $120 to reserve a bed space. Michalopoulos is located at 527 Elysian Fields Ave.
