Dead Feat Announce Jazz Fest After Shows

Dead Feat–-an act that dives into the Grateful Dead and Little Feat repertoires–-will return to New Orleans for a pair of Jazz Fest after shows at Republic on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30.

The band will feature Anders Osborne, Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett of Little Feat, Jackie Greene, Brady Blade and more. Unlike early incarnations of Dead Feat, the group will not be joined by Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann.

Midnight North, a band led by Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh’s son Grahame Lesh, will open the night on April 29. Sockeye with Leftover Salmon’s Vince Herman and Greg Garrison will hold down the opening slot on April 30.

The upcoming shows will mark Dead Feat’s first performances since Jazz Fest 2016. Those shows at the Howlin’ Wolf also featured bassist Carl Dufrene, keyboardist John “Papa” Gros and moe. guitarist Al Schnier.

Tickets for the concerts will go on sale Tuesday, December 13.

As previously reported, Grateful Dead tribute acts Joe Russo’s Almost Dead and Dark Star Orchestra will both play two nights during Jazz Fest as well.
