Dix Pack’a Sixie: 12 Yats of Christmas Turns 25

“Ya’ got nuttin’ to do dis Christmas night ‘cept fall asleep wit’ a sammitch’ on ya’ lap?” asks Benny Grunch.

Well, Grunch certainly has something to do. He and his band will be at Mid-City Lanes Rock ‘n’ Bowl for the 25th anniversary party of his hilarious hit parody “12 Yats of Christmas” on December 25 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Over the past quarter-century, “12 Yats” has become a centerpiece of local Christmas tradition, a fondly self-mocking caricature of the city’s accents, customs, and enthusiastic drinking habit.

Benny Grunch and the Bunch, featuring Kathy Savoie, will serve up a rollicking rendition of the gut-busting tune, along with all of their other holiday, well, masterpieces.

You’ll also be treated to such classics as “Ain’t No Place to Pee On Mardi Gras Day” and “GED Fight Song.”

What better way to spend a Christmas that’s naturally N’Awlins?

Besides, cover is only $1.25, and little kids get in free!
