Dust off those go-go boots: The B-52s are coming to New Orleans

Fred Schneider, front man of the B-52s, wants everyone to “dust off those go-go boots and shine your dancing shoes because the B-52s are coming!” Celebrating over 4 decades of iconic music and partying, the B-52s will be making their way to New Orleans on August 25 to celebrate 40 years in music. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, April 12, 2019.

With over 20 million albums sold, the B-52s have become a household name in the land of music and will not slow down anytime soon. Breaking down boundaries and creating classic tunes, B-52s will bring an energy to New Orleans that makes everyone want to get up and dance. The band announced a world tour for this year that is expected to cover more than ten countries and will include a headlining North American summer tour. “Visiting over ten countries to perform for our fans around the globe makes us so incredibly happy. Let’s rock!” said Vocalist Cindy Wilson.

The four-person infectious band first performed in 1976 in Athens, Georgia, and have since laid out hit after hit, making their way onto the Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” and #99 on VH1’s “Greatest Albums of All Time.”

“Who knew that when we played our first house dance party in Athens, Georgia in 1976 that we would be still be rocking the house in 2019!” said vocalist Kate Pierson.
