Eric Johanson runs from his past on “The Fugitive” (Video Premiere)

Blues guitarist Eric Johanson, whose Whiskey Bayou Records album Burn It Down was recently nominated at OffBeat’s Best of the Beat Music Awards, is today (March 11) premiering his latest music video.

“The Fugitive” tells the story of a man eager to outrun his past life and who eventually finds himself with the opportunity to make things better. With Johanson on slide resonator guitar and vocals, the song features Whiskey Bayou Records founder Tab Benoit on a driving “train beat” on the drums. It also features Corey Duplechin’s deep-pocket bass lines.

Written by Johanson, the song is accompanied by a music video following a man on the run and eventually in the arms of new love. It was directed, filmed and edited by Devon Williams and stars Johanson, Nick Curole and Savannah Porter.

The video for “The Fugitive” follows the story line of the song, and depicts the main character on the run, being taken in by a new love.
