Festigals to celebrate women with Stiletto Stroll parade and more

Festigals, a New Orleans festival that celebrates women while supporting women’s causes, will return June 22-24. The seventh annual gathering will take over the JW Marriott on Canal Street and will feature a variety of events like the New Orleans Women’s Leadership Conference, Bodacious Bras for a Cause Brunch & the Stiletto Stroll Second Line Parade.

The most anticipated of these events is the Stiletto Stroll, which is slated to return the French Quarter at 7pm on Saturday, June 24. This year’s Grand Diva—singer Robin Barnes—will lead hundreds of women in a walking parade with Cori Walters and her all-female Universe Brass Band, an assortment of costumed performers, women’s marching krewes and more. The stroll will come to an end with an “After-Glow Party” at Harrah’s. Proceeds from the celebration will go to the New Orleans Family Justice Center.

Additionally, Friday’s Women’s Leadership conference will feature a number of speakers, including  Alvarado Construction CEO Linda Alvarado, attorney Kim Boyle, Chef Kristen Essig, Burlesque Diva Trixie Minx and more.

More information on Festigals can be found via the festival’s website. A full schedule of events is available here.
