New Orleans’ Very Own Fillmore Theater To Be Unveiled June 21

In 2017, it was announced that Harrah’s Casino had plans to open a music venue on its second floor, one borrowing its name from a historic San Francisco and Manhattan landmark. The Fillmore Theater New Orleans, licensed and operated by Live Nation, is nearing the terminus of its construction and a date has been set for its grand unveiling.

On Thursday, June 21, at 10 a.m. local time, Live Nation executives will reveal the venue in spectacular fashion. The 35,000 square foot venue will accommodate 2,900 people. According to general contractor Ryan Gootee, “A new entrance and elevator will be built along Canal Street providing access directly to the venue without going through the Casino.  The ‎Fillmore New Orleans will be the latest addition to Live Nation’s “Fillmore” brand. A reference to the famed Fillmore East and Fillmore West venues that were operated by Bill Graham during the 1960s, the brand already includes several locations throughout the country.”

Further details are spare, and it is not yet known when the theater will be open to the public and hosting events.
