Flow Tribe announces new album, extensive national tour

Flow Tribe will release their newest album, BOSS, on April 28 before embarking on a lengthy summer tour through much of the United States. The 10-track effort was recorded at The Parlor Record Studio and produced by Mannie Fresh, the Grammy-nominated New Orleans icon behind hits from Lil Wayne, Big Tymers, Juvenile, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Jeezy and many more.

screen-shot-2017-04-11-at-10-56-06-amFormed in New Orleans in 2004 by high school friends K.C. O’Rorke (vocals, trumpet), John-Michael Early (harmonica, washboard, vocals, keyboard), Russell Olschner (drums), Chad Penot (bass, vocals), Bryan Santos (guitar, timbales), and Mario Palmisano (guitar), Flow Tribe blends funk, rock and R&B while incorporating elements of hip-hop, Cuban-Caribbean rhythms and more. The group briefly disbanded after graduation, but reformed when its members returned to New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Flow Tribe has since put out two full-length albums and several EPs in addition to building Downman Studios, a soon-be-opened New Orleans East production facility that will host the sessions for their next record.

“We are thrilled to release BOSS,” the band said in a press release.“Over a year in the making, BOSS blends the hard-hitting grooves of Flow Tribe with the infectious production brought by Mannie Fresh. This uniquely New Orleans’ collaboration puts a new spin on funk, soul, and explores the depths of backbone cracking music. We hope you enjoy listening to BOSS as much as we had creating it.”

With their album release on the horizon, the band is also gearing up for a run of dates surrounding Jazz Fest, including a performance at the Fair Grounds on Sunday, April 30. They will then hit the road for an extensive series of shows across the Southeast, Midwest, East Coast and California that will find them paired with acts like Lettuce, Moon Taxi, Rebirth Brass Band, The Motet, Turkuaz and New Breed Brass Band.
