Flying Lotus 3D Tour Announces New Orleans Date

As part of his latest tour, Flying Lotus will be making a stop in New Orleans at the Joy Theater on Wednesday, November 1. Though acclaimed for his experimental electronic music, his live performances are equally innovative with intense visuals. With five studio albums under his belt – and “film director” on his résumé – the Southern California producer has announced am ambitious addition to his already awe-inspiring stage show: 3D technology.

Flying Lotus 3D TourFlying Lotus in 3D debuted at FYF Festival this year and was met with stellar reviews. The tour bins with a special night in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in conjunction with the first annual Red Bull Music Music Academy Festival Los Angeles, joined by jazz virtuoso and long-time collaborator Thundercat. While Thundercat will not be hitting the road for the rest of the tour, Flying Lotus will be accompanied by DJs Seven Davis Jr. and PBDY.  Seven Davis Jr. is a singer/songwriter and producer also from Flying Lotus’s hometown of Los Angeles, whose style is said to be “soul music futuristic, leftfield, drenched in funk, artsy and intelligent.” PBDY is also a Los Angeles-based producer who specializes in ultramodern electronic music influenced heavily by hard-hitting hip hop.
