Jazz for the Gulf Benefit Concert Tonight

As Ben Jaffe points out in this month’s issue of OffBeat, the oil spill has become our region’s gravest problem, and one will that we will be fighting for year’s to come. Several benefits took place earlier in the summer, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. Tonight, One Eyed Jacks hosts Jazz for the Gulf, with all proceeds from the show going to benefit Gulf Aid.

The concert is headlined by Grammy-nominated jazz singer Karrin Allyson and pianist Ellis Marsalis. Also appearing are locals Leah Chase, Charmaine Neville, Cindy Scott & the NONY Trio, Holley Bendtsen and Amasa Miller, Brian Seeger, and more.

The concert starts at 8 p. m. at One Eyed Jacks, and tickets are $25, all donated to Gulf Aid.
