Louisiana Seafood Festival

Louisiana Seafood Festival Hits City Park This Weekend

The Louisiana Seafood Festival is back this weekend (Friday, September 4th – Sunday, September 6th), serving up City Park fest-ers with the best in the state’s maritime fare and live music.

With 15 local bands performing (complete schedule here) and a special kids’ tent with hands-on activities (open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day), this free Louisiana Hospitality Foundation event is the perfect way for everyone in the family to ring in another New Orleans autumn this Labor Day weekend.

Twenty-five different booths will vend over 50 seafood dishes, as well as five non-seafood dishes and five desserts. All six of Louisiana’s six seafood species are represented in the smorgasbord: alligator, fish, crab, shrimp, crawfish and oysters. (see complete menu below.)

“Our restaurants and caterers have put some incredible thought and talent into their menus for this year’s festival,” said Tony Abadie, Louisiana Hospitality Foundation Vice President, in a statement. “City Park will be transformed into a food paradise. This festival is a must-stop for food-loving locals and visitors to New Orleans.”

The event grows each year and, like many of our parkside fests, strives more and more to showcase local crafters. This weekend will highlight handcrafted goodies by Clay Creations, DesJardins Jewelry, Swamp Dog and Friends, and more. (See complete listings below.)

Come out and stop by the OffBeat booth at the fest to say hello, and get a chance to win free tickets!
