Marci Schramm, Executive Director of French Quarter Festivals, Inc., the umbrella non-profit that produced French Quarter Festival, Satchmo SummerFest, and Christmas New Orleans Style has resigned.

Schramm sent an email to her board earlier today and also posted her resignation on her Facebook page.

Schramm’s Facebook post asserts that she is leaving FQFI to assist in growing her husband Scott Campbell’s small publishing company, River Road Press, and to spend more time with the couple’s young daughters, both of whom were born during her time at FQFI.

“The incredibly demanding hours at Festival have been a stress on my family,” Schramm says, “The time with my little girls is precious, and I look forward to having more of it with them.”

The French Quarter Fest became one of the signature spring events during Schramm’s tenure, and acquired major presenting sponsor Chevron, as well as other large sponsors, including Capital One and Abita Brewing Company. French Quarter Festival was also a multi-year winner for OffBeat Best of The Beat Awards for Best Large New Orleans Festival,

Schramm previously served as the marketing and public relations director for the New Orleans Opera Association, the Michigan Opera Theatre in Detroit, and worked with the Opera Pacific in Orange Country, California.

The FQFI’s current Development Officer and Operations Manager, Stephanie Brownlow Loman, will serve as Interim Director, according to FQFI staff.
