Mumford & Sons Announce Re-Scheduled Concert Date

Folk-pop superstars Mumford and Sons will finally make it to Mardi Gras World on September 16 after their June 13 show was cancelled for medical reasons. Earlier this month, bassist Ted Dwane underwent emergency surgery after a blood clot was found on the surface of his brain. The operation went smoothly, and Dwane is recovering as the band prepares for the second leg of its 2013 Summer Tour, which will include rescheduled gigs in Texas, Kansas, and New Orleans.

Mumford & Sons New Concert Date is September 16

According to the band’s website: “we are pleased to report that our beloved Ted is making a steady recovery from his operation and wearing his newly acquired shaven-headed hairstyle with enviable levels of suave. A huge, huge thank you to all for your messages of support; the man himself is rather overwhelmed.”

With this good news, Mumford and Sons continues to tour behind Babel, their sophomore effort that won them the 2013 Grammy for Album of the Year. Mumford fanatics are sure to drool over seemingly interchangeable hits like “I Will Wait” and “Lover of the Light,” which feature the band’s signature wall-of-sound harmonies and heavy foot-stomping. Fans of the band’s older materials will also enjoy “White Blank Page” and “The Cave,” the mega-hit that assaulted airwaves everywhere back in 2010. The show is general assembly only, so attendees should show up early for the best spots.

All tickets to the sold out June 13 show will be honored. Opening acts for the New Orleans show have not yet been announced.
