Music, Camping, Love abound at Wild Things Family Reunion fest

From November 22 through 25, the “countryside” of New Orleans will be the site of the Wild Things Family Reunion, a three-day camping-centric music festival featuring a staggering lineup of local performers.

Papa Mali’s Ramblin’ Roses Revue, Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, Sam Price and the True Believers, Funk Monkey, The Quickening, Darcy Malone and the Tangle, Dave Jordan and the N.I.A, Crooked Vines, The Tanglers, South Jones, Mike Doussan, Billy Iujso and Restless Natives, 30×90 Blues Band, Captain Midnight Band, DJ sets from Derrick “Mr Smoker” Freeman, Murf Reeves, Otis Sketch and more will provide the tunes at Wild Things Family Reunion.

In addition to the music, the inaugural festival will feature plenty of bonfires, dancing, performance art, local food and more.

About an hour’s drive from New Orleans, Springfield, Louisiana and its Gryphon’s Nest Campground is the site for the fest. RVs are allowed, with an RV pass (which gets you access to an electric hookup). However, folks will need to bring their own water and there is no dump station on the campground. Things like tents, tables and chairs are strongly encouraged.
