Derrick Tabb, founder of the Roots of Music program and Rebirth Brass Band snare drummer, was honored at the third-annual “CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute” at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Tabb was chosen from over 9,000 nominations as one of the top 10 CNN Heroes of 2009.

Monday, Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation was featured on the homepage of The New York Times‘ Web site. The Make It Right creations are referred to as “New Orleans’ latest tourist attraction,” and the controversy that comes along with Brad Pitt’s deviation from traditional New Orleans architecture is discussed.

Sandra Bullock and Drew Brees made the news as they walked the red carpet at the Prytania Theater during the premiere for The Blind Side on Thursday, November 19. Bullock said that New Orleans was the perfect city to premier the sports drama, based on New Orleanian Michael Lewis’ novel.

Lil Wayne is suing to block distribution of The Carter, a documentary about the life and career of the young rapper and self-proclaimed gangsta.

Time Magazine lists Hurricane Katrina as one of the 10 Worst Things About the Worst Decade Ever.

 The latest Disney film The Princess and the Frog hit theaters in New York and Los Angeles on November 25, and will open world-wide on December 11. CNN calls the film, which is set in New Orleans, “a start to finish delight.”
