New Orleans singer-songwriter Alexandra Scott has instruments stolen in home burglary

Singer-songwriter Alexandra Scott had three of her guitars stolen on Tuesday when a burglar broke into her house. The New Orleans-based artist revealed the news via a post on her Facebook page that reads:

I just got home and found my house burgled and three of my guitars taken. Please keep your eyes peeled for my beautiful green Gretsch, for a baby Taylor, and worst of all, for my handmade Nicholas Ioannou classical guitar, which is worth thousands of dollars but whose worth to me is priceless: it is the most beautiful and beloved guitar I own, and the thought of it in the hands of drug-addled strangers literally makes me sick.

Scott’s friend, Rob Disner, has launched a Go Fund Me campaign to help the musician replace her stolen instruments. The effort has already raised over $3,000.

Instrument thefts are, unfortunately, a recurring problem for musicians in New Orleans and pretty much everywhere else. New Orleans indie rockers Sweet Crude, for instance, recently had many of their instruments and much of their gear stolen while on tour in San Francisco.
