Tipitina’s rings in 2013 with Galactic (featuring Corey Glover of Living Colour) and MyNameIsJohnMichael. Tix are $71, but a VIP package – which will set you back $201 – includes a full dinner catered by Jaques-Imo’s, full open bar until midnight and champagne toast, a meet-and-greet with the band, and access to VIP viewing/entrance, plus signed limited edition Galactic gear and Tip’s merch. The show starts at 10.
Venerable Southern rocker Gregg Allman plays the House of Blues, along with Royal Southern Brotherhood. Tickets run $125 for general admission, $225 for balcony seating.

Republic goes the sensory overload route with its countdown to the new year. Miami transplant and NOLA native DJ Damion Yancy will spin Top 40, hip-hop and dance hits, along with local DJ G, and a promised multimedia spectacle. Tickets are $25, with VIP table packages for 10 available for $1200.
Maison gets fonky with an all-night party helmed by Brass-A-Holics, the Local Skank and the Lagniappe Brass Band, plus DJ Mattic and DJ Otto upstairs. Bonus: There’s no cover.
Asheville-based Toubab Krewe returns to New Orleans for a late night show (1:30 a.m.) at the Blue Nile. Earlier on the eve’s bill are Honey Island Swamp Band and the Wild Magnolias. Tickets are $20.
Feeling more traditional (and less nocturnal)? Preservation Hall presents the St. Peter Street All-Stars’ Creole Christmas concert with Lars Edegran and Big Al Carson at 2 and 4 p.m. Tickets are $25.
