The NOLA Crawfish Festival continues its fifth year of Music, crawfish and beer from April 27-29, during the week between Jazz Fest weekends at Central City BBQ’s Smoke Yard. The one-of-its-kind festival brings together tourists and locals alike plus over 10,000 pounds of crawfish, local beers, and show-stopping New Orleans talent. As festival producer Chris Davis, explains, “Jazz Fest has become a two-week long tradition for some folks and we are proud to provide a little bit more of New Orleans for those who stay in town during the ‘daze between’ while providing our locals a more intimate festival-going experience.”
Illustrious musicians Anders Osborne, Ivan Neville, Eric Krasno, Marcus King, Duane Trucks, Luther Dickinson, and Grahame Lesh lead this year’s musical bill. In addition to music, the festival also features events like the Louisiana Fish Fry Ultimate Crawfish Cookoff, where 20 teams compete to see who can cook up the best-tasting pot of crawfish, and King Kooker Crawfish Eating Contest, which puts pro and amateur challengers head to head to see who can devour the most crawfish in seven minutes.
