Big Freedia has a habit of inviting members of the audience to join her twerk team on stage for some good old-fashioned booty shaking during her concerts. Now she’s offering some talented fans the chance to be a more permanent part of her team.

The self-styled Queen Diva will host an open audition for her dance crew in New Orleans this Saturday, January 14. The bounce superstar is looking for male and female dancers—18 years of age or older—to show off their “azz shakin talent” at Dance Quarter (1719 Toledano St.) from 2:30-6:30pm.
All shapes and sizes are welcome, and no booty is too small or too big.
Those that make the team will join Big Freedia’s world-traveling dance crew, and appear on the sixth season of her hit tv show Big Freedia Bounces Back (formerly knows Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce), which airs on the Fuse network. Those that take part in the audition may also be filmed for the program, so hopefully no one who shows up is camera shy.
In related news, Big Freedia picked up the award for Best Use of Local Music or Musicians in Advertising at last night’s Best of the Beat Business Awards. She was honored for her brilliant commercial for Juan LaFonta & Associates LLC.
