OffBeat Accepting Intern and Volunteer Applications

The most respected cultural publication in New Orleans is searching for interns and volunteers!

The definitive guide to the New Orleans music, culture and offbeat culinary scene, aka OffBeat Magazine, is inviting you to experience it with us, up close and personal!

Want to join OffBeat to learn about the editorial, business and marketing side of the media business?
Volunteer! Intern!

OffBeat Media is presently offering opportunities to work with us: We’re looking for editorial, social media, photography, videography and marketing interns, who want to learn the ins and outs of both the editorial and business side of a multi-media company. Since we’re small, you’ll get the opportunity to a lot of different stuff: everything from research, writing for the web and social media, marketing and promoting events, database creation and maintenance, helping us archive our content, photography, graphic design, promotion, working festivals, events and a lot more. Your creativity keeps us moving and grooving, and we promise you’ll learn a lot!

We are looking for interns and volunteers in these areas:

  • Editorial/writing
  • Digital content creation
  • Social media strategy and marketing
  • Videography and video production
  • Web and app development strategies
  • Graphic design and photography
  • Event marketing and management
  • Advertising sales/content monetization.

Internships offer valuable learning experiences in publication, journalism, new media marketing, event production, community engagement, PR and advertising–ideal for college students of any age and/or young professionals seeking resume/portfolio experience and networking opportunities with many of New Orleans’ most influential figures in music and culture. College credit is available, with permission of your university advisor and applicable forms.
