Photos: 2014 Jazz Fest Cubes Are Released

It’s the day all die-hard Jazz Fest fans wait for all year – the release of the cubes: detailed daily schedule of each day’s performances and activities.

At this year’s announcement, Jazz and Heritage Festival executive producer Quint Davis extolled the city that he says has been the main factor in the 45 year old festival’s longevity.

Davis also revealed the 2014 official Jazz Fest poster, designed by Terrance Osborne, and Congo Square poster, designed by Richard Thomas. Osborne’s Jazz Fest poster features the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, which was on hand to perform during the ceremony, while Thomas’ Congo Square poster pays tribute to the late Ernie K-Doe.

K-Doe was present, in a fashion, in the form of a life sized mannequin replica sitting on a bench in the back of the paddock. Take a look at that OffBeat Publisher Jan Ramsey sitting with K-Doe as well as the official unveiling of the posters below.
