Trombone Shorty is quickly securing his place in the upper echelons of all closing acts at Jazz Fest over the years.

Few musicians who have taken the Acura stage as the sun began to set on the final moments of Jazz Fest with more energy, enthusiasm, talent, and skill.

Photographer Kim Welsh captured these great images of Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave. closing out Jazz Fest 2014, along with many others who performed on Sunday, May 4.
