Photos: Umphrey’s McGee rocks the Orpheum Theater

Progressive rock-infused jam band Umphrey’s McGee delivered an excellent night of music at the Orpheum Theater on Friday, April 21. As usual, the group offered two full sets of music, complete with an array of fan favorites, covers and new material. The fan favorites were particularly prominent during Friday’s show, which featured renditions of staples like “All in Time,” “Miss Tinkle’s Overture,” “Utopian Fir,” “Wife Soup,” “40’s Theme,” “Much Obliged” and “Hajmemashite.” A take on The Police’s “When the World Is Running Down You Make the Best of What’s Still Around” was also worked into the set, as was the four-month-old newbie “North Route” that opened the show.

Setlist:

Set 1: North Route > All In Time, Out Of Order, Speak Up > Believe the Lie, Great American

Set 2: Miss Tinkle’s Overture, Red Tape, Utopian Fir[1], Wife Soup[2], When the World Is Running Down You Make the Best of What’s Still Around > 40’s Theme

Encore: Much Obliged > Hajimemashite
