Quintron Debuts New Album at NOMA Tonight

[UPDATED] In January, Quintron and Miss Pussycat opened “Parallel Universe,” their two-person show at the New Orleans Museum of Art. As part of the show, Quintron installed himself and his equipment with the plan of recording an album in the museum. For the last week, he has lived in a tent in the Bestoff Sculpture Garden while finishing the album. The show closes Sunday, and tonight he will premiere the results of his labor in a two-part event.

Starting at 6 p.m. sharp in the museum’s Stern Auditorium, listeners will be blindfolded as selections from the new album play. Parents are warned that this portion will be louder than is safe for children. Then at 7 p.m., the party moves outdoors to the Sculpture Garden, where the album will be previewed in its entirety. The album will not be commercially available until the fall.

Tonight’s listening party is free, and there will be two cash bars. Outside drinks are prohibited.

Update 2:25 p.m.: Tonight’s event was scheduled to go until 8 p.m. It has been extended until 10 p.m.
