Rockin’ Dopsie, Jr. And Armando Leduc y Salsa Royale To Headline Hurricane Relief Concert

On November 15, Generations Hall in the Warehouse District will host Playing it Back, a hurricane relief benefit concert featuring performances from Rockin’ Dopsie, Jr., Anais St. John, Vaughn Goudeau, Amanda Ducorbier, DJ Cupid, DJ RQ Away, Phunky Monkeys and Armando Leduc y Salsa Royale.

The benefit event is the brainchild of lead singer Armando Leduc. “Those of us who survived Hurricane Katrina are all too familiar with what Texans and Floridians are experiencing in the aftermath of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma,” Leduc said. “There’s no way I could sit by idly so I recruited some of the best hospitality industry businesses and musicians to come together to ‘play it back’ for our neighbors across the Gulf Coast.”

A major fundraising event for the recent storm victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, the star-studded event will raise funds for the Cajun Navy Relief and the Junior League New Orleans’ diaper bank. Both organizations have been instrumental in the recovery efforts on the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic seaboard from record-breaking hurricanes that have destroyed or damaged large sections of the United States. Concert attendees are encouraged to bring diapers, baby wipes and feminine products or cash donations that will go directly to Cajun Navy Relief and Junior League New Orleans’ diaper bank to be distributed to hurricane victims in the affected areas. Members of Cajun Navy Relief and their boats will be onsite for photo opportunities.

Tickets for the event are now on sale for $20 and can be purchased here: http://ticketf.ly/2Ad2amh. Patrons will enjoy favorite dishes from some of New Orleans’ top restaurants including Windsor Court Grill Room, Superior Seafood, ACME Oyster house, 12 Seasons, Mr. Mudbugs and NOLA Roast. Also featured at the event are auction items such as VIP tickets and a meet and greet with Better than Ezra at the band’s foundation festival; a one-week stay at Summerwind Resort in Navarre; and a fishing charter for 3 from Krazy Kjun Inshore Fishing Charters.

Playing it Back takes place Wednesday, November 15, 2017, from 6-10 p.m. at Generations Hall in the Warehouse District at 310 Andrew Higgins Drive.
