Deacon John And Special Guests To Help Open New Rehearsal Space

On Sunday, May 27, Deacon John Moore & the Ivories will help launch the grand opening of Tricentennial Hall, a new rehearsal and meeting space on Ursulines Avenue.

Tricentennial Hall is operated by the New Orleans chapter of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) and is currently accepting bookings from Musicians’ Union members. The studio space includes:

According to the AFM website, there is no recording equipment available at this time apart from a mixing board. However, “the hall is sound-proof and tuned for studio quality.” They also offer “bus hookups for traveling bands who wish to rent and record.”

The May 27 grand-opening celebration also features performances from special guests and is open to the public. Running from 2-5 p.m., the final hour of the even is an open jam session and folks are encouraged to bring their instruments. The Musicians’ Union is located on 2555 Ursulines Avenue.
