Video: The Revivalists Cover Dr. Dre with 12-Year-Old Brandon Niederauer

The Revivalists got some help from an old–or shall we say, young–friend at the Brooklyn Bowl in New York City last night. The New Orleans rockers wrapped up their set with a sit in from 12-year-old guitarist Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, who joined them for a take on the Dr. Dre and Eminem classic “Forgot About Dre.”

The cover marked the guitar prodigy’s latest collaboration with the Revivalists, coming roughly two and a half years after a then-ten-year-old Niederauer helped them with the Allman Brothers Band’s “Whipping Post” at the same venue.

Niederauer, who also fronts his own band Lions on the Moon, has performed with a number of artists over the past couple of years, including Warren Haynes, Gary Clark Jr., George Clinton & The Parliament-Funkadelic, Anders Osborne, Eric Krasno, Dumpstaphunk, Galactic and many more. He has also appeared on the Ellen show, and is currently a member of the original cast for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony-nominated Broadway musical, School of Rock (based on the 2003 film of the same name).

Live for Live Music pointed out this video of last night’s collaboration, which was posted by photographer Marc Millman:
