Walter “Wolfman” Washington to Celebrate 72nd Birthday with Special Guests

Walter “Wolfman” Washington will team up with a few friends when he celebrates his 72nd birthday at the Maple Leaf this Saturday, December 19.

Washington’s Annual Birthday Bash will see the bluesman joined by special guests George Porter Jr., Leo Nocentelli, Roger Lewis and Joe Krown. Fans will likely be treated to appearances by other unannounced guests as well.

The show will begin at 10:30p.m., with doors opening at 10p.m. Tickets will be available at the door for $15.

As previously reported, Washington will perform at OffBeat’s 2015 Best of the Beat Awards. Slated for Thursday, January 21, the show will also feature sets from a Tony Hall-led tribute to Allen Toussaint with Cyril Neville, Davell Crawford and David Torkanowsky and a tribute to The Radiators from Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes. Other performers include the Young Fellaz Brass Band, ROAR!, Roddie Romero and the Hub City Allstars and DJ Quickie Mart.
