5th Ward Weebie died Jan. 9, 2020.

Weebie, Choppa, Shamarr Allen included in Fried Chicken Fest’s Who Dat Playlist

This weekend, the National Fried Chicken Festival will take over Woldenberg Park in New Orleans with three days of music, food and more. On the Main Stage, the music is presented by OffBeat and includes Cha Wa, Bounce Royalty (DJ Jubilee, Cheeky Blakk, Choppa), Bonerama, St. Augustine High School Marching 100 and many more. There will also be a one-of-a-kind opportunity to celebrate the New Orleans Saints.

Chin up, Who Dat Nation. Although it seems like the NFL is in cahoots with the refs to funk us over once again this year, we still believe! Resiliency is in our blood. The Who Dat Nation will come together for the ultimate Saints pep rally. OffBeat‘s September issue cover superstar DJ Raj Smoove (who has DJed for the Saints, to name a few) will scratch your blues away at The Who Dat Playlist set. Raj and a line up of artists will perform from 6:30-8 p.m. on the Main Stage. All main stage acts were curated with love, and a little blood sweat and tears by OffBeat! Get your black and gold gear, and your Who Dat crew and meet us there this weekend!

The Who Dat Playlist features headliners 5th Ward Weebie, Choppa and Shamar Allen, all of whom have dropped records that ultimately became Saints anthems.

Weebie just dropped his Saints song this year called “Get Out The Way.” I talked with Weebie over the phone today, and he said “Everybody just needs to get out the way man. The NFL. Roger Goodell. The referees. This is not our first time fighting adversity. We know what is is now. We’re gonna be alright and hold our head high cause there’s no football like Saints football.” Can I get a Who Dat!?

We don’t want to give away too much, but arrive in style. Choppa Style.
