Renowned jazz guitarist Dave Stryker will be swinging by Snug Harbor tomorrow night, Thursday, July 26. While many know Stryker as the co-leader of the Stryker / Sagle Band (alongside saxophonist Steve Sagle) or from his extensive solo output, true to the spirit of jazz, Stryker will be joined at Snug with an impromptu cast of New Orleans’ finest jazz cats: pianist Michael Pellera, bassist Chris Severin, and drummer Darrian Douglas.

Stryker’s own dazzling improvisational playing initially came to prominence during his tenure in tenor man Stanley Turrentine’s band (’89-’95).

Today, his reputation precedes itself. Above, you’ll see a recent video of Stryker and his Organ Trio performing the John Coletrane classic “Impressions.” Stryker’s and his New Orleans brigade will be delivering an 8pm and a 10pm set tomorrow night. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at Snug Harbor or by phone at 504-949-0696.
