Happy fifth anniversary, Soundclash! This Thursday night (October 17) at the Hi-Ho Lounge, New Orleans’ premiere beat battle and hip-hop showcase will celebrate five years in the game with a monster bill that includes spots from more than 10 of the city’s top producers, 3 DJs, an artist spotlight and sets from hometown heavyweights Truth Universal, J-Dubble and more. The icing on the cake… OffBeat’s giving away a pair of tickets to the party. To enter into the drawing, all you have to do is fill out the form below before noon on Thursday.

The festivities kick off at 9:00 p.m. with a beat-battle royale featuring Soundclash vets and local sluggers Cise HD, Beat Doctor, Flight School, Dani Kartel, Philly Beamin, City Sparks, CZA, Mouse, Stefan, Calamity and Billy Topps. Likewise, DJs Jay Skillz, RQaway and Kidd Love are set to throw down on the ones-and-twos. After the sesh, scene super man J-Dubble and friends will step to the stage followed by the night’s headliner Truth Universal, who, alongside Chuck “Lyrikill” Jones, spearheaded the Soundclash movement in 2009. Earlier this month, Truth Universal dropped his latest album, the socially conscious banger, Invent the Future. Hosts Wes Beez and DJ RQaway will keep the party rocking, and prizes compliments of Humidity Skate Shop will be given away throughout the night. Paintings from live music painter and graffiti style artist Reuben Cheatam will be on display as well.
