Pinch A Palooza returns Sunday, April 7

Hot boiled crawfish & cool local music served up at Pinch A Palooza

On April 20, regional sounds and food will be the central focuses of Deanie Seafood’s 10th Annual Pinch A Palooza Festival & Crawfish Eating Contest in Bucktown.

From noon until 7 p.m. at Deanie’s Seafood Restaurant and Market, the family friendly crawfish and music festival will feature performance from The Topcats, Swamp Pop band Ryan Foret & Foret Tradition,  Vince Vance & The Valiants and Roux the Day. Plus, the all-male dance group the 689 Swampers — performing in shrimp boots and camo — show off their “Magic Feet from Lafitte.” There will also be the eating contest, crawfish races, bounce houses, crafts and games. pinch a palooza

Competitive crawfish eaters compete in two heats for a chance to be named Pinch A Palooza 2019 Crawfish Eating Champion and earn a Deanie’s crawfish boil for 20. New Orleans actor and comedian Johnny Rock will serve as the competition’s MC.

A $1 donation to beneficiary The Good Shepherd School is the cost of admission. ood, beverages and keepsake items are available for purchase. The event anticipates serving up to 5,000 lbs. of boiled crawfish and entertaining several thousand guests! Pinch A Palooza will go on rain or shine, and tented seating will be available. Lawnchairs are welcome.
