Bayou Boogaloo accepting applications from performers and vendors

The 2019 Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo takes place May 17-19, and festival organizers are accepting applications from those interested in performing or selling certain items.

Food vendor applications for restaurants and caterers who are fully licensed, permitted and insured to sell food are being accepted now through Friday, December 21. There is a $20 application fee and approximately 30 slots available.

According to the food-vendor application, “Vendors will be allowed to serve 3 items and a combo plate. If you don’t have a combo plate, then 4 items are acceptable. No food vendors are allowed to sell beverages of any kind. Vendors will be selected based on quality and those who will collectively offer the best variety.”

Vendors interested in selling art or retail items are also able to apply now and through Friday, December 21. According to organizers, “In our Art Market we endeavor to feature the best variety of local and regional handmade art and crafts from a variety of mediums including but not limited to metal, pottery, glass, jewelry, wood, fiber, photography and mixed media. Our Marketplace features larger retail vendors who might carry imported or non-handmade goods.”

There is also a $20 application fee for art and retail vendors, and the application can be found here.

The 14th annual Bayou Boogaloo is also accepting applications from musicians interested in performing at next year’s festival. “We are interested in booking a wide variety of genres: roots, funk, blues, jazz, hip-hop and more,” say festival organizers. “We try to keep our line-up fresh sogenerally we don’t book talent that has played at Bayou Boogaloo in recent years.”

Interested performers have until January 1 to apply and can do so here.
