“Oedipus Max” will feature original songs and remixes set to videos made by Krewe members that will be projected onto the surface of the Piazza using a custom-made projection-mapping network. The 2019 Krewe of Vaporwave event will have a variety of artists perform to keep their audience excited and involved. Performing artists include Naughty Palace, Bouffant Bouffant, BÊNNÍ, Nondi, Rathbone, Giorgio Murderer, This Bliss, Xiao Xiao, Rathbone, This Bliss, Leisure Muffin, Maddiedoesntexist, and Onaverde. Performers will be placed under archways, on the boot of Italy, and other spots within the Piazza.

Krewe of Vaporwave made its online debut in 2016 and was quickly welcomed into the world of krewes. The krewe’s 2016 Virtual Parade was shown at the 2016 New Orleans Film Festival. Since then, Virtual Krewe of Vaporwave has released its Virtual Parade as an online multiplayer video game. More than 600 attendees were drawn into the krewe’s 2018 event, “The World’s Unfair.” In this event, Krewe of Vaporwave collaborated with New Orleans Airlift to transform the Music Box Village into a satirical recreation of the 1984 World’s Fair.

Virtual Krewe of Vaporwave has installed audiovisuals for the Arts Council of New Orleans, the New Orleans Film Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, Overlook Film Festival, BUKU Music + Art Project, Satellite Art Festival, Nola DNA and Shotgun Cinema.
